Q: During Cobra Pose the instructions state to keep your belly button on the floor but your elbows at a 90-degree angle. When I lift up into this my belly button always leaves the floor, but the area directly below stays in contact with the mat. How important is it that your actual belly button remain on the yoga mat?

A: It’s very common for the belly button to come up off the floor; it’s a body-proportion thing! Just make sure that your arms are “L-shaped” from the side.
