Q: Why do we bring the left hand up first in Toe Stand?

Craig Villani says: When I asked Bikram Choudhury this question years ago he told me it was a traditional element – like stepping to the right to represent the east. He said that Bishnu Ghosh taught it that way. It likely also allows most students who are right-handed to steady themselves with their dominant arm in transition.
