In our eyes, everyone who steps into the hot room is a star! But we love adding to the growing list of celebrities who can’t live without their Bikram Yoga fix!

Colin Farrell

In August, Colin Farrell was spotted stepping out of a Dublin Bikram Yoga studio in his native Ireland – shirtless. Glimpses of the 36-year-old actor’s chiseled physique suggest that the 90-minute hot yoga series helps him stay in seriously good shape. Not only that, Farrell, who checked into rehab in 2005, says yoga satisfies the same need for “ritual” he used to get from doing drugs: “I go into the class with 40 others, put down my mat and … that’s a whole other ritual that I love. There’s a comfort and a familiarity in the repetition and the moves that’s very liberating and frees up your mind and heart.”

Hayden Panettiere recently graced the cover of Women’s Health, giving a candid interview about her obsession with weight as a teenager and describing how she now focuses more on her happiness and less on counting calories. The 23-year-old actress told the magazine that her current workout regime includes skipping the elevator in favour of stairs and “sweating out toxins” in Bikram Yoga.

When Measha Brueggergosman isn’t on stage, the 35-year-old opera soprano is in the hot room practising – or teaching. Brueggergosman, who came close to death in 2009 after her blood pressure skyrocketed and ripped a hole through the wall of her aorta, says that Bikram Yoga helped her lose weight and regain her health after years of neglect: “For me, yoga creates a healthy relationship between mind and body.”

Reporting on everything from shark fishing in Costa Rica to elephant poaching in Chad to the battle over oil in Nigeria, journalist Lisa Ling has a busy and, at times, stressful career. Among her secrets for staying cool, calm and collected in the face of a difficult interview or a potentially dangerous situation: Bikram Yoga. An avid fan of the series, she’s said to seek out a studio and practise no matter where in the world she may be.
