A Little More About Mari
Mari has been teaching Bikram Yoga for the past 6 years in studios in Vancouver, California, Colorado and Texas. Mari also spent 6 months teaching in India for Bikram when he opened his first studio in Mumbai.
In 2009 Mari decided to participate in the Yoga Asana Championships. Mari placed 3rd in Western Canada her first year competing. She continued to train and compete and has been the Western Canadian Yoga Asana Champion for the last three years. She has also placed 5th overall at 2010 and 2011 International Yoga Asana Championships. She will be representing Canada again this year in the 2012 International Championships, held on June 8 & 9, 2012 in Los Angeles, California.
Here’s what Mari has to say about the competitions:
“Yoga demonstration is a way to express and share a part of myself with others. Yoga is such an enormous part of my life and I have so much passion for the practice and benefits. For me yoga is my passion, so if sharing my practice with others through yoga demonstration allows people to feel my joy and passion of the practice and that inspires even one person to want to practice yoga, or do what they are passionate about, then that is what is really important.”
