Karma Yoga Class #2

December 15, 2011 3:38 am

We held our first Karma Yoga Class on December 3 at the Cambie Studio. Thanks to everyone who came out, $1,000 was raised to help Laurie M. and Keith P. establish a health clinic in Kenya in the New Year!

“I feel so supported with this endeavour … it’s really overwhelming,” says Laurie, who admits to being nervous when she first started leading the class at Cambie. “I think that this class was different than other classes because it had a real sense of community. Everyone was there to support me and the cause. It felt amazing!”

Although some students came not knowing that the class was by donation, everyone gave generously when they found out what was happening. “More than one person came up to me after class to say that it was great,” Laurie says. “Someone even donated more after class was over! All in all it was a feel-good experience.”

The second and last Karma Yoga Class to benefit this great cause (you can read all about it in our previous post) is happening on December 18 at 12:45 p.m. at the Kits Studio. Because of its smaller capacity, be sure to come early so that you can make a donation and get a spot in the hot room!
